Meet Dr. Furnas
Dr. Heather Furnas is a board-certified plastic surgeon who provides restorative results for her Santa Rosa, CA patients through quality aesthetic treatments. Before co-founding Plastic Surgery Associates and Allegro MedSpa with her husband, Dr. Francisco Canales, Dr. Furnas served on the plastic surgery faculty at Harvard Medical School and was on staff at the Beth Israel Hospital. Well-known as a caring and skilled plastic surgeon, she takes great pride in offering the highest level of care for her many patients.
Skills and Specialties
With over 20 years of experience, Dr. Furnas works with her patients to understand their aesthetic goals before providing customized cosmetic procedures. At Allegro MedSpa of Santa Rosa, she provides nonsurgical procedures for the rejuvenation of the body, face, and skin. As a part of injectable treatments, Dr. Furnas offers BOTOX, Juvéderm, Voluma, Restylane, Radiesse, and Kybella. For the body, she provides vaginal rejuvenation, G-spot enhancement, nonsurgical skin tightening, CoolSculpting, and Cellfina.
Education and Training
As an experienced and accomplished plastic surgeon, Dr. Furnas obtained her undergraduate and graduate degrees from Stanford University. At the UCLA School of Medicine, she completed her medical degree before returning to Stanford to complete her plastic surgery residency. Since then, Dr. Furnas has been board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery.

Publications and Leadership
Currently, Dr. Furnas is an adjunct assistant professor of plastic surgery at Stanford University. She also performs international lectures and provides publications for several prestigious plastic surgery journals, providing her expertise on topics, such as vaginal rejuvenation. In 2017, she received the ASAPS Tiffany Award for Best Scientific Paper for "Why Women Choose Labiaplasty," as well as the Ozzie Honorable Mention Award for her role as a guest editor for a series of articles on women in plastic surgery.
Humanitarian Work and Hobbies
Having been inspired after spending a year in Kenya with her father, Dr. Furnas serves the needs of children with birth defects in Peru, Honduras, Western Samoa, the Philippines, and El Salvador. Outside of her work, she greatly enjoys theater, books, art museums, writing, and most of all, spending time with her family.
